What is Pickling and Passivation?
Pickling is a chemical process that removes weld scale, rust, oxides, and heat tint from stainless steel using acid solutions. It ensures a clean, scale-free surface, preparing it for optimal corrosion resistance.
Passivation, on the other hand, is a post-cleaning process that uses nitric or citric acid to remove free iron from the surface and enhance the formation of a protective chromium-rich oxide layer.
